BLQ Medium Advocacy Workshops are a three-part, progressive training series designed to build individual and organizational capacity for effective advocacy, storytelling, and systems change. Each workshop builds on the last, moving participants from foundational understanding to advanced strategy and real-world application. All sessions are fully customizable to the needs of advocates, volunteers, or partner organizations.

Advocacy 101 – Foundations of Advocacy & Power Building

Introduces participants to the fundamentals of advocacy, including how policy is made, who holds decision-making power, and how individuals and communities can influence change. Participants learn core advocacy language, explore different types of advocacy (direct, grassroots, narrative), and begin identifying their own lived experience as a tool for impact. The session builds confidence and clarity around “how change happens.”

Advocacy 202 – Strategy, Storytelling & Mobilization

Builds on foundational knowledge by focusing on how to craft effective advocacy strategies and compelling narratives. Participants learn how to map stakeholders, design targeted campaigns, and use storytelling to move decision-makers and communities. This workshop highlights designing personal and community experiences in structured messages that drive engagement and action.

Advocacy 303 – Advanced Campaigns & Systems Change in Action

Focuses on advanced advocacy execution, including coalition building, campaign design, and systems-level thinking. Participants apply skills to real or simulated advocacy campaigns, develop multi-layered strategies, and practice influencing policy environments. The session emphasizes sustaining impact, measuring outcomes, and leading long-term systems change efforts.

Together, the three workshops create a clear progression from understanding advocacy → designing strategy → leading change, equipping participants with practical tools to move from voice to action.
