Carrington Hayes
Consultant & Cultural Curator
Carrington Hay is an Atlanta-based community organizer, advocate, and nonprofit strategist dedicated to advancing equity for workers, families, and underserved communities. Throughout her career, she has partnered with organizations including We Dream in Black, AFL-CIO, Jobs with Justice, United Southern Workers, and Black Male Initiative, leading organizing efforts focused on labor rights, educational equity, and racial justice.
Her experience spans grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, and political strategy. Carrington has lobbied at the Georgia State Capitol on behalf of children’s rights and education reform, and she also managed a statewide superintendent campaign in Georgia, helping shape outreach and engagement efforts across diverse communities.
For Carrington, advocacy is deeply rooted in family legacy and lived experience. Her grandmother’s beauty salon served as both a community gathering space and a hub for civic engagement, where funds were raised to help purchase Rosa Parks’ first car. The salon also welcomed Martin Luther King Jr. and his family as regular guests. Growing up connected to that history instilled in Carrington a lifelong commitment to justice, community empowerment, and transformational change.
